Centering and stabilizing the kneecap
Bauerfeind GenuTrain P3 is a medical support brace that centers and stabilizes the kneecap with an adjustable control strap. According to the instructions for use, it is used for irritation conditions in the knee joint - patellofemoral pain syndrome, chondropathia patellae, chondromalacia, jumper's knee and runner's knee - for osteoarthritis behind the kneecap, when the kneecap is pulled outward, in cases of subluxation or dislocation of the kneecap, for a high-riding kneecap, after surgery and in cases of a feeling of instability.
Pads and corrective straps
The patellar pad has an integrated corrective strap that guides the kneecap and counteracts outward slipping or rotation. The strap tension is adjusted individually.
A muscle-relaxing pad reduces lateral pulling on the kneecap by relaxing the iliotibial tract, while an upper wing activates the joint-stabilizing vastus medialis muscle as you move. Hoffa points support pain relief behind the kneecap, and silicone dots along the upper edge keep the brace in place.
Materials and comfort
According to Bauerfeind, the Train knit provides medically effective compression with high wearing comfort and has a soft comfort zone in the popliteal fossa. Stable plastic splints with a flexible bending zone have integrated aids for putting on and taking off.
Material composition according to the manufacturer: polyamide (PA), silicone (SI), thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), elastane (EL), thermoplastic elastomer (TPS-SEBS), polyurethane (PUR), cotton (CO) and polyester (PES).
How to choose your size
GenuTrain P3 is available in Titan, Black and Beige, in seven sizes and in separate models for the right and left knee. Measure while standing with your knee bent at 30 degrees: the upper circumference 14 cm above the knee and the lower circumference at the narrowest point below the knee.
- Size 1: upper 35–41 cm, lower 27–29 cm
- Size 2: upper 39–46 cm, lower 29–32 cm
- Size 3: upper 42–51 cm, lower 32–35 cm
- Size 4: upper 47–56 cm, lower 35–38 cm
- Size 5: upper 51–60 cm, lower 38–41 cm
- Size 6: upper 55–64 cm, lower 41–44 cm
- Size 7: upper 59–68 cm, lower 44–47 cm

Use
Grasp the applicator aid rods at the top on both sides and pull the support upward over the knee. Position the ring-shaped pad so that it surrounds the kneecap without pressure.
Then bend the leg slightly (no more than 20°). Detach the pull tab of the adjustment strap from the hook-and-loop area on the inside of the support, pull it diagonally upward until the kneecap feels comfortable, and reattach the pull tab. Remove the support by grasping the rods at the bottom and pulling downward.
Care
Wash at 30 °C and follow the care instructions on the sewn-in label - regular care preserves its effectiveness. Do not expose the product to direct sunlight, heat, or cold for extended periods, and avoid contact with greasy or acidic substances, ointments, and lotions.
